Plan a spa visit without surprises

A treatment appointment and a day in the facilities are different purchases. Find out exactly what your booking includes.

Decide what you are booking

A spa listing can describe a treatment room, a hotel facility, a day spa or a larger leisure complex. The name alone does not establish that there is a pool, sauna, steam room or a day-pass option. Begin with a short list of the facilities or services you actually want and check each one with the operator.

If a listing includes both spa and massage categories, that does not mean a massage is included in admission. Ask whether treatment bookings and facility access are sold separately. For a hotel spa, confirm whether non-residents can visit and whether the entrance is the hotel reception or a separate door.

Compare the complete package

Ask for the total price for your planned date, including any weekend supplement, booking fee or deposit. Establish the arrival time, session length and time you must leave. A two-hour access slot is different from a treatment lasting two hours. Check whether towels, robes, footwear and lockers are included or need to be brought or paid for separately.

Availability can differ from the opening hours shown in a business record. A venue may be open while a particular facility is closed for maintenance or reserved for a group. If one facility is the reason for your trip, ask specifically whether it will be available during your session.

Make a practical checklist

Check arrangements for the whole group

For two or more visitors, confirm that the same time slot is available to everyone. Adjacent treatment appointments do not necessarily mean a shared room or a shared facility session. If giving a voucher, check its expiry date, eligible days, transfer rules and whether the recipient still needs to reserve a time.

Use the directory to find the right branch and a contact method. It cannot establish whether a facility or treatment is suitable for your health circumstances. Direct any health-related questions to a qualified professional, and ask the venue about its own admission rules before paying.
